Are OHM Beads solid sterling silver?

Yes. Our jewelry is made with solid sterling silver and is stamped with a 925 hallmark, unless otherwise noted in the item description. We also produce gold (solid, plated, and vermeil), copper, brass, and steel designs, but the vast majority of the OHM catalog is sterling silver.

What is sterling silver?

Pure silver is far too soft for jewelry making. Therefore, it is mixed with other metals giving it strength and resilience. Sterling silver is a metal alloy consisting of 92.5% Silver (hence the hallmark "925" imprinted on the bead) and 7.5% other metals.

Are OHM Beads nickel-free?

Sterling silver is 92.5% silver (Ag) with copper (Cu), zinc (Zn), and other alloy metals, including in some cases trace amounts, 0.01%, of nickel (Ni).
